Energy Problems
People all of world realized energy problems that people face so far. There are not only energy problems but also environmental problems too. The energy sources that people every day use are fossil fuels and oil. Stein and Powers (2011) explained disposal of fossil fuels are cause of environmental problems such as global warming. People need to find out the ways to avoid greenhouse effect.
Other kinds of fossil fuels such as coal or oil are also not a perfect energy. They have some toxic. There are some problems about coal. Coal can’t use for mobile applications because coal is suitable fuel for stationary power operation. (Stein and Powers, 2011). Coal is cheap energy source. However it can’t be a fuel for automobile.
Another problem that coal has is toxic. It is harmful for people. Coal has carbon dioxide generation. Carbon dioxide is released by burning coal or other fossil. In addition, while it is burning, there are many impurities in coal and it contained toxic and it release to the atmosphere (Stein and Powers, 2011). This carbon dioxide is dangerous for people. When this toxic release in to the air, it could be main cause of greenhouse effect.
These above energy resources have many problems so people began to use oil. Oil could fuel for automobiles and when it is being a liquid, it carries easier than coal. That is why oil has supplanted in many applications (Stein and Powers, 2011). For these reasons people prefer to use oil but there are other problems.
This is one of the biggest problem oil had. People can’t use oil unlimitedly. An amount of oil reserves already has been decreasing and it is less available that people need (as cited in Stein and Powers, 2011). Another a big problem is greenhouse effect. Ozone is like a window in the atmosphere. Stein and Powers stated
The emitted radiation from the greenhouse is in the form of infrared rays that are absorbed by the green house windows. The greenhouse thus becomes warmer. In a similar fashion, the ultraviolet and visible light rays from the sun are absorbed by the Earth and the radiation is reemitted as infrared rays. In this case, carbon dioxide molecules absorb the infrared radiation leading to a warmer atmosphere. (2011, p.6)
Which carbon dioxide concentration is higher, the atmosphere warms faster. If people use fossil fuels and oil every day, it could be result of destroying earth. In this respect, people have to desire for inventing new energy sources.
Why Solar Energy
The Sun is the largest object in solar system and earth receives a massive energy from the sun every second. Solar energy is clean, safe and unlimited source. When energy economic grow up, people invented a new item like steam engine based on wood and coal. Since then people have focused on diverse energy source which are nuclear, wind, water and solar. However, nuclear
