This is a signal that environmental problems become increasingly seriously. The consequences of environmental damage and over-exploitation have become more and more evident since late 20th century. Nowadays, there are about 7 billion people live in the earth. According to a prediction of some scientists, the number of people will grow to 10 billion in 21st century (Ven.Jampa, 2013). There will  have more and more people to share the earth, but we already have many serious problems, such as shortage of resources, environmental pollution and so on.

Many evidences showed that some environmental problems are caused by behaviors of people. For instance, as population growing, people emission more and more carbon dioxide and cut more trees. Then the global temperature is increasing. Finally there are continuously melting glaciers and rasing sea levels. Another example is some earthquakes are caused by exploitation of gas, oil and water (Ven.Jampa, 2013). These environmental problems even constrain the economic development of many areas. Base on these information, people around world began to pay attention to environmental problems. Some governments try to signed associated agreements to control people behaviors that hurt environment or waste natural resources. These agreements contain many aspects, such as weather, water and atmospheric pollution. There are many important transnational environmental agreements, some of the most famous agreements are the Kyoto Protocol, Vienna Convention on the Protection of the Ozone Layer and Rio Declaration on Environment and Development (WIKIPEDIA). At the same time, governments and many environmentalists advocate people to change their individual behaviors to protect the environment. In order to help people build environmental awareness, they establish many organizations. The United Nations Environment Programme, the Intergovernmental Panel on Climate Change, World Nature Organization, Greenpeace and Fridends of the Earth are some famous organizations around the world. They also hold many activities to lead people to protect environment. Some practices are very useful, such as the recycled garbage, encourage high energy-consuming enterprises to install energy-saving equipment, control the temperature of air-conditioners and so on.

However, some activities they held are inefficient. Their original idea of is advocate people to follow them to protect environment and save natural resources through these activities. In fact, the results of these activities obey to their original idea. The most representative of  these activities is the Earth Hour. They should do more researches before they do these activities. They must analyse the advantages and disadvantages of these activities.
