Life Cycle
The human life cycle is a series of different stages which a human being goes through from infancy to adulthood, this is a cycle as the individual grows and matures. Over the course of this essay, I will discuss the lifecycle and the understanding of what influences a human being. I will clarify three major notions such as how; autonomy, self-determination, and policies and legislation and how it influences an individual’s capability to successfully bargain encounters over the course of their lifetime.
When speaking of lifecycle individuals will pass through different periods throughout their lifetime. Self-determination is a trait that starts at birth. “During the course of a child’s first eighteen months the child will start emerging trust, security, optimism, and confidence, from their parents if they are suitably cared for” (McGoldrick, Carter, & Garcia-Preto, 2011). If by chance there is a child doesn’t trust their parents they may possibly grow into self-doubt, insignificance, and almost certainly be caution of dependence in the world and within themselves. Far along in your lifecycle, if an individual is suitably cared for by their parents and taught right from wrong, they will be able to make wise choices in their life without having to be depend on someone else to help or make them. All this comes from self-assurance and being able to not only trust but have faith in the decisions which they make in their lives. People study how to be self-determined in earlier ages like grade school, individuals learn how to make their own choices. In the earlier ages children learn problematic abilities by assessing aloud as they report and discourse simple complications that arise at school or even within the home.
“This stage is called autonomy vs. shame this is from 18 months to roughly 5years old. This is when folks will have the chance to build self-esteem and autonomy as they learn new skills and right from wrong” (McGoldrick, Carter, & Garcia-Preto, 2011). If the human being is cherished the right way, they’ll pick up how to carry them self with much self-importance instead of embarrassment. Human beings will be very sure of themselves and the choices which they will decide to make as a child. This is about the time a child will have curiosity about the word “why" and want to explore the word. A child will begin testing it with toys, displaying what they think being an adult is by role playing. Children will role play house with Barbie and ken dolls, also, things such as toy cars, action figures, and Lego’s will get them to wanting to know things and why and how certain things happen. If you don’t have involvement with your child in this stage they can resolve problems such as struggles through social role identification, learning from what they see others doing whether it be on television or just out and about. With this it can bring an individual to become frustrated over goals in life and potentially feel guilt when something they’ve done goes wrong or they feel as though they did something wrong.
