Environmental: Legacy of existing infrastructure and systems whereby the piping must be suitable to the structure of the homes
To get the suitable piping to the structure of homes, it is better to get the manufactured from local market in cheap rates. Individual fittings can be costly so producing them in a bulk would be a great idea and for this local people have to invest some potential to get the things implemented.
Economic: Need for political agreement and partnership in order to implement system at approximated cost of 1,856,095 XAF (3975.9346 AUD) per water tank (TeamPoly Australia, 2015)
The cost estimated is the huge amount for setting up a water supply system in Bambui. Local people need a support of a political agreement from the local government of the Bambui to take care of the project and certain partnerships with some private firms to gain some financial help.
Majority of costs incurred at installation while the mains water costs are spread over time
Ofcourse majority of cost incurred at installation in water supply systems and to prevent the wastage of water, a water storage system for each house or block of house will reduce wastage of water. People need to be educated to save water and reuse it. Moreover, need to find cost effective and realistic methods to save water.
Constraints
Environmental: Increasing demand for water due to population growth (Turner, 2015)
Demand of water supply will increase as population will increase. The best way to save water is to educate people to save it. The best way to train local people is through taking lead of the project so that they are able to understand the benefits of it themselves and make it for a long term basis. They need to be educated about how to use store water and minimizing wastage of water.
