Questions

  1. How could your organization learn about other services in the community?
  2. What information about the providers of these services would you need to have before you could refer clients to them? One very important thing we should know is how long they’ve been serving the community and how are they funded? Another thing that we must know is whether or not they serve a diverse community and what is their process of accepting the clients? We would have to know what demographic area they serve and how long the client is allowed to receive services. It is also a good idea to ask whether or not the client must pay a fee for services and how they go about determining what that fee is.
  3. What steps can your organization take to build an effective network with other providers in the community?  Let everyone know exactly what the organization is about and what and how they help the community. We can do this by creating a list with everyone the organization comes in contact with. Always be honest, list your website, send a newsletter to all those who have joined you in helping the cause. Brochures are also a great way to communicate to others what the organization is about. Treat everyone that you come in contact with, with the upmost respect. Be a transparent organization, does the organization have a mission and a vision set up.
  4. How can your agency promote community change so the needs of the population are better served?  Does your tagline differentiate you from other organizations that focus on similar issues?
