Abstract
Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) is an important standard of behaviors of many firms in each county; especially it is adopted by prominent firms. However, in China it is still a new concept for most organizations. The objective of this thesis is to find out the relationship between CSR and organizational citizenship behaviors by using 8 local firms in Wei Hai, Shang Dong province of China as cases and investigate the impact of CSR on organizational behaviors.
The main research study includes a literature review on pervious researches and theories. Apart of it, it needs to collect data and analyze them in order to clearly understand the influence of CSR to organizational behaviors. Due to the lack of study in the literature which examines the relationship between organizational citizenship behavior and employee perceptions of corporate social responsibility of Chinese firms, so this research has its importance both in theoretical and empirical results by also connecting different disciplines.
During the research, this thesis used quantitative research as a research method and collect data by questionnaires and interviews. According to data analysis, it confirms that CSR has a large influence on organizational citizenship behaviors. Hence, this thesis suggests Chinese firms must introduce CSR concept them as soon as possible, meanwhile, having true CSR activities to society and local community. Therefore, they can encourage their employees to have more organizational citizenship behaviors and improve their own competitive advantages.
