CORRUPTION
Nowadays, we find that corruption is rampant in many countries, as reported in mass media such as newspaper, TV and radio. To eradicate or to prevent it from worsening in countries, we must find some effective and useful ways to solve it.
First at all, the government can impose heavy penalties on those who involve themselves in corruption. This method not only serves the retributive function of punishment, but can also serve to deter others. To reform the wrong doers or make them realize "crimes do not pay", the government should send them to jail. Suffering in terms of freedom and loss property through confiscation can warn others so as to think twice before they commit the same crime.
Besides that, fortifying a person's character can help to decrease the number of cases of corruption. Therefore, we are able to resist the temptation and would not easily fall prey to the lure of material wealth. We should treasure personal integrity and reputation more than all other things in life. We should value highly such values as simplicity, moderation, fairness and integrity. In other words, we should be contented with what we have. We can also undergo some psychological conditioning that makes us loathe corruption. In this way being corruption is alien to our nature.
As we know, prevention is better than cure. We can prevent corruption from occurring through close supervision, as for example through CCTV. There is no way for one to get involved in any case of corruption. It helps to ensure a very strong sense of professionalism as government servants, so all procedure is well-laid and explicit. There will be a strong degree of transparency, such that even the clients feel it futile to give bribes for they know that it will not work.
In addition, the sense of social obligation and responsibility among the people should be enhanced.
