In this age of change, the human society is progressive rapidly on various fronts. Yet at the same time, many problems have arisen, a serious of which is that we have a vast of plastic bags and rubbish that we cannot fully dispose of. This issue has shown widespread attention. In this essay, I will analyze some possible causes of this phenomenon and then propose some solutions.
It is obvious that the causes of this rubbish problem are diverse. In the first place, the development of economy at a staggering rate and the global population boom lead to consuming are much more than we did in the past. For instance, a great number of supermarkets and other small shops appear in every concern of cities, which provide millions of packages of products to their consumers, especially the plastic bags. In the second place, many cities do not set up effective and efficient systems for coping with rubbish we produce everyday. Specifically, governments do not pay great attention to invest enough money and time in this social issue instead of lip services for that. Thirdly, some individuals in cities do lack of awareness of preserving our environments, such as throwing away packages in public areas. It seems that it is not the obligation/duty for the citizen to preserve environment.
Accordingly, the solution to this issue should also be varied. First, governments need to adopt diverse policies to restrict the proliferation of this pollution. To illustrate, government could collect tax on packages and at the meanwhile encourage manufacturers to use eco-friendly materials instead of non-biodegradable plastic. Then, governments have responsibilities to invest financial/capital supports in public sanitary systems.
