Abstract
Ethical responsibility is the duty of all employees in the workplace. As, the President of the hospital he holds a responsibility to ensure the facility is operating a safe environment for the patients, employee, and stakeholders. Ethical in hospital facilities are going to be very important in near the future. Patients and their families depend and trust the responsibility of providing excellent healthcare services. The healthcare industry has been projected to created 19% of the jobs by 2014 (Desphpande, Joseph and Prasad, 2006). Dr. DoRight has been faced with a dilemma among his hospital. Many patients under the care of the “Universal Human Care Hospital” have died because some of the doctors and nurses are not following proper procedures. As, the president of “Universal Human Care Hospital” Dr. DoRight decide he need to report the incidents. Dr. DoRight has concerned the internal and external stakeholders’ reaction, what the potential conflicts between the internal and external stakeholders, if by reporting the incidents will fulfill his ethical duty and if he should address this issue through the deontology principle or utilitarianism principle.
Dr. DoRight is contact with many individual in the hospital system. As, the president of
Universal Human Care Hospital Dr. DoRight will encounter relationship with Director of Nursing, the Compliance Manager and the patients in the hospital.
