Today, the world has become a more diverse place. Everyone is connected with today's great technological advances and more and more people are learning about other people's cultures because they want to be able to do business with them and talk to them about their culture. Everyone wants to be treated equally and should be treated equally, and that's why I believe that global business managers should treat people as if they were all the same.
Say you have to find someone to fulfill a position in your company. You have two qualified candidates for one position. Both candidates have the same level of education, come from the same background, and have almost identical resumes. The only difference is that one is African American and one is white. You chose the white candidate just because you think white people are better and smarter. Is that fair to the African American candidate? They have the same everything, except their race. There is no way that you can go through with the rest of your business career with your integrity still in tact. Just because he is of a different race was why he was not chosen, even though he was fully qualified. This is unethical. It is your responsibility as a manager to know what is right and wrong. You should know what to do when an ethical situation comes up and know how to handle it and make the right decision. All managers should make decision based on ethics and whether it is right or not and not make a decision based on ethnicity or friendship.
Here is another situation. There are two people who are working for you on the same level. One is Asian and the other is Mexican. They both put in the same number of hours and same level of education just like the last situation.
