Fitness has become a big issue and a very important part of being a healthy and successful person. It is hard to find any famous actor, model or major network news anchor who is not involved in any physical activity, or who is simply overweight. Many media resources are promoting fitness as a lifestyle required for everyone through different TV channels, magazines, and internet advertising. They claim that we don't exercise enough which is one of the primary causes of being overweight and obese, which, in turn, can cause high blood pressure, high cholesterol, heart disease, diabetes, and premature death. The more we exercise, the less we are at risk of developing heart disease and certain types of cancer, the top leading causes of death. However, there have been many scientific studies related to health and fitness and its correlation to exercise which looks at health from several different perspectives. Almost everyone can benefit from the health effects of exercise as many researchers have proven that physical activity helps to lose weight and reduces the risk for several diseases. Regular exercise helps to maintain an advisable weight, a favorable body composition, and cardiovascular health. Receiving so many benefits from physical activity makes exercising a major contributing factor in maintaining good health. Coco Ballantyne, in the article "Does Exercises Really Make You Healthier?" examines several benefits of exercising and determines if physical activity improves our health and if the intensity of exercise leads to the greater health benefits. To study the effect of physical exercise on health and weight-loss, Ballantyne gathered much of her data from a variety of different types of research, practical experience and medical studies. The author presents several well-known exercise benefits that she expects the audience to take as a face value and uses them as a base to conduct further research. To investigate these benefits, Ballantyne analyzes a particular benefit of exercise and uses different studies and exhibit sources for each field. Providing this type of structure makes the author more focused and helps her analyze specific benefits highlighting the main points of her research for the audience. The feature article observes the advantages of exercise as it shown in scholar literature in order to find out if physical activity is beneficial as we think. The author doubts the claims about the benefits of exercise; she uses data and health research from many well-established scientists to help the audience to understand the impact of exercise on our health and support her position on this subject. In order to maintain a healthy life-style and improve our health effectively through physical activity and exercise, it is important to recognize the difference between scholar and media coverage of fitness as it related to our health.
