Aloha everyone from Hawaii! My name is Zia Ur Rehman and I have been serving as a Project Manager - Civil Engineer in the Executive Group of State of Hawaii. I have been working for the State of Hawaii for a little over an year. My former work experience involved lead roles for the private sector including Architectural-Engineering Design Consultants, General Contractors and Construction Management Corporations for over 10 years. I have received my Bachelors of Science Degree in Civil Engineering and I am also a license/registered Civil Engineer. My reason for enrolling at SNHU in the MBA program is to advance my career within the government, potentially to a Director level position in the future. This program offers the key to opening the gateway to my long-awaited goal of providing an exceptional leadership to the most reputable government organization of the State of Hawaii. My hobbies include surfing, scuba diving, jet skiing, spear fishing, soccer and playing golf. I love trying new food recipes and restaurants and my favorite foods are Mexican, Turkish, Lebanese, Italian and Hawaiian food.
After reading all four articles for the content overview articles, I would like to discuss certain aspects of the article detailing a typical Karaoke Business Meeting in relevance to International Marketing. In my opinion, the Karaoke business meetings are more popular in Asian countries. It is very popular in Hawaii due to Asian cultural dominance and I have attended several Karaoke meetings while being part of the private sector. The article highlights the need for Americans to be familiar with or at least get accustomed to such culturally interacted meetings. Such meetings are not so well known in non-Asian countries specially in US Mainland. The biggest reason for that is that there has not been a significant marketing effort involved to introduce such a mode of meeting in mainland USA and generally speaking internationally. I have also lived and worked in several other Asian and middle eastern countries and i can certainly say that the Karaoke business meetings are not well known in many Asian countries and internationally in general.
