In today’s society, media has become very powerful and has a strong influence on many people. Mass media, such as movies, music, magazines, television shows and video games are viewed by millions every day. They may be fun and interesting to view and read but they are beginning to shape our culture in both positive and negative ways. People view all different forms of media on a daily basis and it is beginning to change many things about them such as their appearance or behavior. Males and females may be unaware of the positive and negative effects the media has on them; however it has a huge impact and could even change their lives forever.

Some media effects males and females equally in a positive way and impacts their lives for the better. One form of positive media influence is the ability to keep people informed of news in a short amount of time. News is able to travel from one male or female to another almost instantly with all the technology available in today’s society. Television along with smart phones, iPods, and computers, which all have access to the internet, are capable of getting the news in an instant. The news enhances the general knowledge by providing people with information from all over the world. News broadcasted through different media helps us know about the day-to-day events in the world. Keeping people informed of what is going on in the world is important and as a result, the news has a positive influence on both males and females.

The media is capable of teaching millions of new things to people every day. Books, television shows and computers are very valuable teaching tools. Reading a book can open people’s eyes to many new things. It can broaden a person’s vocabulary and make people become much better readers and writers over time.
