Motivation Techniques

Successful business is not only depends on brilliant ideas, as well as they also need motivated teams. Motivating employees is one of the most important tasks of Human Resources Department. After recruiting, HR must train the new employees and also current employees due to improve their motivation as well needed skills. Not only HR, company including its employees and even customers involved in the motivating process, too. Basically, the easiest technique to motivate the staff is giving praise when they do something perfect, however there are other techniques that can be applied:

  • Company
  • Established a realistic goal or purpose of the company

Create a goal to help the employees know what they have to achieve. Unclear purpose will make a confusion between workers and they don’t know what they have to do and will make them de-motivated.

  • Training and induction training

Induction training is for the new employees as the introduction to the company. There’s a quote “if you don’t know, then you won’t love it”. It is also the same with this issue. You have to get your employees know about whole of your company to make them love it. Organize annual training to keep maintain the standard skill and also encourage them do to better. Make sure the training is fun and comfortable to them. If they love it, then they will happy to work with you.

  • Reward them

By rewarding them something, example extra salary to employee who shows best performance or make a little competition and give them something memorable (example the picture of staff of the months will be put in a private showroom and they will receive some rewards, can be money or maybe extra day-off). Staff of the month make them want to do their best and become recognizable among the company. Because usually some people love to be praised and be recognize rather than money.

  • Supervisor or Manager
  • Inspire your employees

Be a good role model to the employees. If a manager shows a good performance and passion in the job, the employees will look after them. Also, encourage them and praise them every time they make a good performance. Lastly, keep the excitement of the team and keep their interest in job.

  • Empowering staff

Giving the employees chance to solve the problems they face, will also train them to apply the training that they have got. Not only motivating them because they can use their creativity in problem solving, the manager also has more time to do their own job task.

  • Colleagues
  • Build a competitive and comfortable atmosphere

When we work in comfortable atmosphere, example clean and safe, we will more enjoy it rather the dirty and untidy environment. Also, have fun and cheer each other up so you will feel more motivated. The positive competitive atmosphere will create an eager in individual to become better than each other, which is a basic human nature.
