Dear Ms. Bogle:
I am a first year evening MBA student at the Georgia Tech Scheller College of Business planning to pursue a career in advisory consulting and finance. I am writing to apply for the Advisory Consultant – Business Valuation position that I learned of through a good friend, Randy Johnston. I believe that my background in founding, owning, and operating my own company, being exposed to high paced work places starting at a young age, combined with my ongoing exposure to finance, accounting, and management curriculum in my evening classes would make me a strong fit for Deloitte.
Prior to attending Scheller, I acquired a diverse set of skills while I completed my undergraduate degree at Florida State, which I just finished in May, 2016. While in college, I was on a pre-medical track for the first 3 years, before making the change to pursue a career in business during my senior year. This decision came easy to me after working as a full time ER-medical scribe during my junior and senior year, which was a job I had to supplement my medical school applications. As I received more and more exposure to medicine, I steadily realized that I no longer wanted to pursue becoming a Doctor. Being at the tail end of three generations of successful hometown physicians, I had to try. Simultaneous to my shift away from medicine, I began to build my own company while in college, which would eventually operate across the entire span of North Florida with 6 employees. In starting my business, I realized that I had a natural aptitude for analytical, project management, and problem solving skills. My adventure of starting my own business and working nights in the ER during undergrad has made me very adaptable and given me a great work ethic.
