Great leaders play a large role in encouraging and inspiring their follower store each important goals. Without a leader’s ability to empower followers in obtaining their objectives, all parties fail to reach their full potential. Leadership gives pace and energy to the work and empowers the workforce. Empowerment is the collective effect of leadership(Bennis,2010,p.20).Leaders identify and formulate effective change to address stakeholder expectations through total quality management(TQM).In fact, the recent popularity of total quality management(TQM)emphasizes empowerment as a corner stone for its success(Nathan,2003,p.28).The employees must take an active interest in the product they are delivering, and the organization must take an active interest to invest in their employees.number qualities. You would like to think that they are credible, enthusiastic, have good judgment, and are intelligent, a good people person, and a great speaker. Leadership skill is more than just acquiring traits it is about enveloping these as a person and carrying them through in every aspect of your life. Not only will this paper talk about leadership skills in general but it will also show how each individual brings their own personal traits to evolve into their own leadership skills. This allows the individual to become the leader that they want to be within whatever avenue they continue into and benefit their status in the company and future companies that they work with. Credibility is an important factor in being an effective leader. When one of your mail skills as a leader is to have your team follow you, your expertise and building their trust is important (Hughes, Ginnett & Curphy, 2009 p. 355). Credibility is the ability to engender the trust in others (Hughes, Ginnett & Curphy, 2009 p. 356). Not only is credibility important with the team you lead it is also important with having effective relationships with your direct supervisors. If the supervisors cannot trust your ability in leadership it will affect the company and trickle down amongst the team under you. Trust can be as simple as breaking down into clarifying and communicating your values and building relationships with others (Hughes, Ginnett & Curphy, 2009 p. 357). This can also undermine what skills you possess to become an effective leader. The organization you work for needs to know that you can handle situations effectively so that when you are faced with a good or bad situation neither will be handled inappropriately. This is positive growth for you as an employee as well as a solid leader within the company. SKILLS Communication is another invaluable skill that needs to be part of any leader. If you have an individual that cannot relay what needs to happen during a work day then tasks will not be accomplished.
