Shelter is one of man's basic needs. It has been important since the creation, as man's first home was the Garden of Eden. In ancient times shelter took different forms, as our ancestors lived in caves, thatch houses and ‘wattle and daub' houses, which were of great importance to them. Today, we embrace board and concrete houses which are the main structures of modern time.
According to Rick Renzi "Home ownership is the corner stone of a strong community." Owning a home is a responsibility that requires sound, mature thinking and long term planning. Being responsible would mean that if a mortgage is acquired on the property in financing the building process, monthly installments should be paid on time, and also to see to the upkeep and maintenance of the property. It is the dream of almost everyone to become home owners and this dream can become a reality when one makes the necessary preparation. When planning a home there are five questions one should ask: Why do I need a home? When will I acquire my home? Where will my home be located? Who will build my home? And how will I finance the making of my home?
Split levels, fiber glass roofing, French windows, mahogany doors, crown moldings, all add to the classy finish of my customized dream home, accented with well-manicured lawns and beautiful flower gardens.
As a child owning a home is my greatest dream, as I plan to have a family when I grow up. This is even more important than owning a car and in order to realize this dream, saving is the first intelligent step that I could take in order to own my dream home.
It is essential to earn in order to save and whatever you earn will determine how much you save. Therefore it is necessary to have a good education which will enable you to choose a career that will provide enough money, so you can save towards your goal.
