Personal Responsibility and College Sucess

Accepting personal responsibility in one’s life means he or she takes control of the decisions in his or her life. With that being said, the most important reason each individual is personally responsible in his or her achievement in college is motivation to succeed. Nevertheless, personal responsibility can also be referred to as accountability, which is defined by Merriam-Webster as "the quality or state of being accountable. My own definition for personal responsibility means to own up to decisions made in life. To stand by your mistakes and successes all the same. For example, when I started college, I really didn't understand how hard is was going to be. I realized that I had to be the one to make an effort to finish my studies. This was completely different from high school. Going to college made me prioritize, put things into perspective, focus and is motivating me to be more successful not only in school but in life and the near future. What I am learning most about being ijn college is to do something with the 2 to four years that is going to bring me to a better point than i was when i started out. College is, I think, really more than anything a two to four year period of transition, and it’s my personal responsibility to make the most of that and not squander it by wasting too much time worrying about my past or the future.

On the contrary, the relationship between personal responsibility and college success exists because personal responsibility is an important factor that affects every aspect of a person's life. For Instance, your achievements in life are determined by your personal beliefs in self, the dreams you have, and the action you take to make these dreams reality. In addition, personal responsibility determines the success of student for many different reason. Such as,
