PROBLEM/ ISSUE STATEMENT
1. Rudy, the school principal didn’t show enough respect to Ana as a woman and school teacher.
2. Ana is very outgoing person, sometimes her outgoing ways are misunderstood by her co-teacher especially by male co-teacher.
3. Ana did not wear decent/proper attire that is why Rudy, the principal, tempted to touch her legs and commit sexual harassment.
4. She allowed Rudy to touch her legs and did not attempt to remove his hands while discussing some official matters just to avoid offending him.
5. Lack of training in the areas of moral and ethical obligations in the school.
ANSWER THE FOLLOWING QUESTIONS:
1. If you were the head of HRD, how will you handle the case filed by Ana?
If I were the head of Human Resource Management, First, I will keep the case confidential in order to protect the dignity of Ana and addition, to avoid gossips in the school because of the issue. Second, if the statement of Ana is right and there is a witness, I will help her to give justice on what Rudy did to her. We have laws to protect the right of every woman and Ana deserves to claim these rights even though she is very outgoing person and liberated.
2. Who is at fault here Ana or Rudy? Explain your choice?
I think both parties have fault, why? First, Ana did not wear proper attire which is appropriate in the school, I think she wore mini shirt that’s why she accidentally showed her smooth skin when she sat down and crossed her legs. There’s a saying “the weakness of a man is a woman” nowadays, most men are tempted to commit sexual harassment because many women failed to dress themselves decently. Second, Rudy, the school principal, failed to act as a professional person because of the temptation; he failed to respect a woman like Ana.
