Part 1:
1. Intro:
1. Society is fueling problems such as obesity, sexism, and racism by judging them and ridiculing them instead of promoting diversity.
2. The claim involves society’s impact on societal problems, as well as image issues, weight problems, diseases caused because of weight, self confidence, racism, cultural differences, as well as society as a whole on the individual.
3. It is important to research this because it gets into the root of society which can
change a society for the better or worse. If this paper reaches the intended audience of America’s society, it can change how society views overweight people, women, different looking people, and really show that it’s not fair to judge someone based on looks.
2. Body:
1. To support my claim, I will seek out primary, secondary, factual, and subjective
pieces of evidence to base my claim on. The research will be done through the use of the
physical library and seeking out books as well as online resources such as academic journals.
The evidence could also go into interviews.
2. To fully research this claim, I need to delve into several topics: Society and as a
whole it’s influence on individuals, obesity, and how much of an epidemic it’s become, racism
and it’s effect on the individual, the lack of self confidence in both obese and different culturalized people, the negative view of women, and lastly how all of this relates to society.
3. The audience trying to be reached here is the society that we live in. The
intended audience is America and the society that we’ve built around us.
