Business, environment and society are three entities that I believe are exceedingly interrelated. These three concepts contribute to the efficiency of the measure of profits and the impact an organization has on people and the planet. These principles, also known as the triple bottom line; creates a framework for companies to enhance their sustainable practices without ignoring the importance of benevolence, responsibility, growth and survival. Through class discussions and readings, I am now a stronger advocate for the triple bottom line and its positive effect on global industries. For example, companies can internally discover their own sustainable methods and how they can refrain from adding to CO2 emissions. This contributes to creating and attracting employees who are interested in being apart of an approach that can personally and positively affect them.
