Essay Choice A

Basically, I agree with Hellen Keller about her quotation related to building a character of a person. Based on Barack Obama statment “Change will not come if we wait for some other person or some other time. We are the ones we've been waiting for. We are the change that we seek.” Dealing with a building a character, I have great experience that have changed me.  For two years I have joined some organizations in college and contributed in volunteerism actions. Last August 2015, I got a chance to be a volunteer in Thailand. I was honor to be chosen as a part of the team to teach children in Chalung District at Satun province of Thailand. I tried to apply the project in Thailand, because I want to get more knowledge not only in the college but also through this project of being volunteer. After passed all the tests, such as interview and fulfilling all of requirements, finally I was chosen me to become one of the participants.

When I arrived there I had to deal and suffered many things, for example with its Circumstances, Culture shock, Foods and all the unusual habit. But time goes by; all of the problems were paid off with what I got there. In the projects, I got a chance to do a project as a volunteer for 1 month there. International Organization For Volunteers (Dalaa) in Thailand  as the organization that cooperates with us in organizing many projects that we could choose and I got the chance to teach English in Jareyataam Islamic school foundation and  also a Volunteer In the community and villagers there.

This was my first time to get involved such the project, One month which was really affecting my life. I was introduced to a world of the pure kindness, togetherness, humanity and hanging my desire during my volunteer there. I shared my knowledge to others yet I learned many things as well. Not only from the school but also from other volunteers and villagers. Once, when I helped the people in villagers and I heard people say to me ‘Thank you” and “smile” I discovered that these two words are simple but the most beautiful and meaningful for me. Even small things we did would really affect someone. I am so happy and realize that I can find happiness by helping each other.
