The Power of One
A company needs a leader to guide the staff into the road of success. Without a good leader, a company cannot function. On the other hand, a company cannot function as well when it has too many leaders. When there is too many people leading, the staff might feel at lost not knowing well who too follow. Also, when there are too many leaders, the decisions that they take might be opposite from one another, causing yet even more confusion between the staff. Therefore it is very important to focus the control to top executives and leaders.
Changes do come at price, and sometimes that price scares management into making changes. Therefore, this causes some companies to leave things as they are, instead of making the needed changes. Also, another issue that might arises is that, even though changes do bring a positive outcome, they sometimes need to go through a time of transition, and that time usually the company might feel as it if it is going through a negative time, and this also scares management as well.
Managers need to be accessible, this creates a work environment where the staff feel that their voice can be heard. When a manager is constantly unavailable, it makes the staff feel that they are not important and that the company does not care for their needs. It is understood that a manager is a very busy employee, and that he or she does not have a lot of free time to give to all of the employees when they need to speak with him or her, but there needs to be a way where an employee can feel comfortable to approach the manager.
When a manager is unavailable, and he is not sharing important information with the staff, then it is important for the staff to become more engaging themselves with their superior. By expressing their feelings, things might change, and the manager might understand that he or she needs to be more engaging. Otherwise, another simple method that the staff can
