Analysis & Impelementation of Initial Quality Study (IQS) on Harvester Combine
Abstract:
Initial Quality Study involves evaluation of a product with customer point of view. Final product after passing through all processes is inspected by an Expert, who raises a Demerit score of that particular product. The score is generated with some set pattern Defects grading & Aggregates. As an example, In Automobile vehicles there may be 3 categories of Aggregates: Production, Supplies & Design. All defects have to be divided into these 3 aggregates. As far as Defects grading is concerned, there are 10 grades G1 to G10. G1 defects have maximum weightage & G10 have minimum weightage. Types of Defects is another critical point which is to be consider while doing IQS. Some of examples are given below:
1. Production: Parts loose. Parts miss, Improper torquing of Nuts & Bolts, Improper Assembly of components, Welding defects, Paint defects like Paint less, overflow, overspray, crack. texture & Dust etc.
2. Supplies: Buffmarks, Dents/Dings, bulging, bend, Welding defects, mismatch etc.
3. Design: Performance & Aesthetic defects due to Product design.
IQS evaluates the whole product with the complete given specifications & Tests which have to be carried out during manufacturing a vehcile. IQS is carried out with a difinite frequency like weekly. bi monthly & monthly etc. Each IQS score is analyzed with various graphs. Most of the graphs are made on Pareto Principle. The following essential graphs are shown in IQS Show.
1. First Slide: Information about the type of product, week or month with year in which the IQS is done.
2. Line graph of previous IQS scores & current IQS score.
