Capstone Project

Introduction

Our group mainly focuses on learning situations of various students. For those students, we consider their average time spend on study and the locations where they would like to study. In order to make sure the diversity of our sample for this project and avoid the sample being a biased selective one, we used the “survey money” to help us to collect the data. In addition, each of our teammate all did their best to send survey to people who they familiar with. We send our survey to students who have different majors such as business, computer science, international communication and even art major so that we keep our sample being objective. Our first question is used to ask students’ favorite place where they want to do some studies and the second question we ask students about how long they would like to spend on study for one time.

Abstract

Each of our teammate all comes from China. We really want to know the differences among several countries students especially the learning behaviors. In this case, we have made two questions on the survey in order to know students from different countries about their learning situations. We not only used the email to send our online survey but also made paper questionnaires to give to both our classmates and those people we are familiar with randomly.  For those students we asked, they all came from different countries and have different majors so that we have a sufficient sample.  By the end of data collection, we received exact 103 effective feedbacks. However, for the convenience of calculation we finally chose 100 feedbacks as the sample size. After we have chosen the sample, we obtain some describing data: sample mean is 5.03 and the standard deviation is 1.74.
