I. Phase 1: The Strategic Context
A. Project Overview
Business case document is a key product that is provided to a company that shows why an investment that is proposed is vital to their success in moving toward a change. When writing a business case proposition it must show how the most up to date information technology will be incorporated and how this technology will integrate with the existing technology by either replacing it or enhancing the current technology.
B. Introduction of MORENO Medical Center
Moreno Medical Center (MMC) is the leading healthcare facility in the Northwest Valle and was established in 1975. Moreno is dedicated to providing cutting edge medical care to the people and the surrounding communities.
C. Organizational Overview

MMC serves as a model facility to meet the health care expectations of the community we serve. “Our employees are compassionate, caring, and committed to service excellence by delivering quality health care services while respecting the dignity and individual needs of our patients and families ” (Phoenix University Virtual Org).
- Strategic vision, goals, and service objectives
MMC is owned by physicians and is a for profit hospital that considers quality patient care to be the top key priority for the hospital’s success. The MMC physicians are motivated to provide the best care possible to their patients. If an employee at MMC has a career or training goal, they are required to ensure that it aligns with the organizational vision and mission. MMC understands the importance of a healthy work environment to allow employees to feel empowered and have the tools necessary to deliver quality patient care in the Northwest Valley.
- Current activities and services, including key stakeholders and clients
MMC actively solicit program evaluation proposals for new and expanded internal clinical programs. MMC programs focus on the delivery of quality healthcare services and promoting a supportive, caring environment within the hospital and the local community. MMC uses a evidence-based decision making model that includes analysis, implementation, and evaluation for their programs. The Medical Center reviews what programs works for healthcare consumers in the short term and long term.
