How to Write a Scientific Paper
Introduction
Scientific papers are important to reach auditors’ opinion, beliefs and their research. Audience can reach your data and conclusion through your research and they can extent that research or they will have an idea about related research. Research has a significant role in order to write scientific paper. According to Kumar, research is process collecting, analyzing and interpreting information to answer questions. But to qualify as research the process must have characteristics: it must, as far as possible, be controlled, rigorous, systematic, valid and verifiable empirical and critical. In order write a scientific research paper need to consider following categories; abstract, introduction, materials and methods, results, discussion, and conclusion.
Methodology
Research question
Research is an integral part of the study. First of all, research question is needed to identify in order to write scientific paper. Research question gives a reader an idea about what it will be about and that indicates why it is important, and following section how they will find out the answer, and discusses. It basically grabs the reader’s attention. According to Kumar, when selecting a research problem there are many consideration; interest, magnitude, measurement of concepts, level of expertise, relevance, availability of data, ethical issues. Interest is the most important consideration in selecting research problem. If you select you a topic it entirely interest you. It is also extremely important to select a topic that you can manage, you need to consider researches magnitude. Topic is also need to relevant with your expertise. If you need to secondary data, you need to make sure data is available. Another important consideration is ethical issue when selecting research problem. You need to think how will affect your research study when you obtaining data or information. This section also shows that author either has a good research question or not. Before writing the paper research questions should clearly identified and the article needs to focus on the research question. According to Davidson, a good question is well defined, novel, relevant, plausible and answerable. (2012) Researchers should ask yourself “what is it that I want to find out”, and make a list to find out objectives. Some research questions are shown below; research is about information security awareness in college.
1. Why information security education is important on college students?
2. Is there any significant difference in student performance based on differences who has taken information security related class before and who have never taken?
3. Is there any significant relationship between major and security awareness degree of the students?
4. What is the relationship between class frequency and perceived security effectiveness as measured by the survey?
5. Are the students aware of information security related terms?
