Impact on Companies Due to the Lack of Skills on Information Technology

Ignorance is certainly no defense. Lack of information technology skills costs most companies financially, socially, politically and socially. Lack of the skills is the inability to perform according to the new technology in the systems. Inability to perform jeopardizes the productivity and success of the organization. In this century companies have switched to using technology as a strategy. They have used this strategy to gain a competitive advantage in their respective industries. Therefore companies that do not upgrade to using the new technology may be swept off the industry. Lack of information technology skills is a major threat to the firms. Technology has been embraced by most firms and it contributes to the growth.

Research findings

Research has shown that companies that have skilled workers have registered more profits compared to companies whose employees lack the technological skills. The research shows that the systems operated by skilled workers are more efficient and increase effectiveness. They are less prone to errors making them more efficient. Use of technology has reduced redundancy in the processes. The workers do not have to keep repeating the same thing, technology reduces monotony.

Information Technology is responsible for planning and management of the firm. It is also referred to as Management Information Services or the information systems. This is responsible for protecting information, storing it transmitting the information to the required places and it also retrieves data when required. Information technology is responsible for data storage and its management this increases the information security.

 Lack of knowledge, skills is the biggest problem many organizations face. Organizations that have retained the older generation face the problem of unskilled employees. These employees do not have the technical; knowhow of operating systems that use technology. According to the research lack of skills among workers has the following negative impacts on the firms:

Information technology is the design, development, implementation and management of computer based systems during and after their installation. It is responsible for planning and management of the firm. It is also referred to as Management Information Services or the information systems. Management Information Services is responsible for protecting information, storing and transmitting it to the required places, as well as retrieving data when required. Information technology is responsible for the data storage and its management, which increases the information security.

 The lack of knowledge, skills is the most crucial problem many organizations face. Organizations that have retained the older generation face the problem of unskilled employees. These employees do not have the technical knowledge; understanding of operating systems that use technology. There is little production in certain fields due to the lack of qualification, whereas substantially small amount of products is being produced by unskilled workers, and this makes it difficult to run organizations. Most organizations are at risk of closure due to the incapability of workers to produce. They mostly undergo losses. There is wastage in human resources and physical resources, since they are not efficiently and effectively utilized.
