Currently Riordan Manufacturing headquarters in San Jose, California is the core hub for their Wide Area Network (WAN). The other locations that connect with the San Jose hub are Pontiac MI, Albany, Georgia, and Hangzhou, China. The external network line consists of a 1 GB T1 line that runs to the Georgia and Michigan plants. The internal network runs off a 100 base T router with 24 ports. Each of the 24 ports supports several different computers that are spared throughout the San Jose location. The breakdown of the drops are eight are for Marketing, eight for Accounting, seven for Human Resources and twelve for corporate use. The desktops that are used at this location are Dell Optiflex with Microsoft 2000 installed. A separate switch is connected to the T1 line that connects directly to the China Plant via a satellite.

The Michigan and Georgia plants are very similar in their IT designs. They both connect the corporate headquarters through a T2 line. They also share the same backbone as The San Jose site. A LaserJet printer is connected to all patch panels at each location. The Pontiac plant has a Cisco router connected to a 48 port switch that is connected to a 48 port patch panel that connects to 45 Dell Vostro office computers with Windows 98 and an unknown version of MS Office. There are also 45 client computers with Windows 7 and MS Office 2007 and four networks printers connected to the 48 port patch panel. There are four computers connected to the hub that have specific purposes. There first two client computers that have Windows NT installed, one desktop that is the file /printer/ exchange server, the third acts a s UNIX server with UNIX-ERP operating system installed, and the fourth computer has UNIX-MRP installed and gives access to the manufacturing floor.

The Albany plant has a Cisco router connected to a 24 port switch panel that connects to a 48 port patch panel. This panel also supports 20 office computers with windows 98 and an unknown version of MS office. There are four computers connected to the hub separately than the office computers. Two of the computers have Windows NT installed. One acts as the file/printer server, and the second one acts as an exchange server. The other two computers are HP UX servers. One of them has the UNIX-ERP operating system and the other has UNIX-MRP-II operating system that connects to the sales floor.

The Hangzhou, China plant connects to the San Jose site via a satellite that is connected to a gateway/switch that runs on a 100 base T router.
