For the quarter ended June this year, the airline has posted a net profit of Rs 78 crore, its highest ever, owing to lower fuel prices, improved fleet utilisation and renegotiation of contracts. The profit was aided by a drop in aviation turbine fuel prices.

 “We have tweaked schedules and reduced aircraft ground time, improving fleet utilisation,” Kapoor said.

In a wet-lease deal, a lessor also provides pilots and crew to the lessee.

"We were at a phase where the airline was actually shut down... The focus is now on getting back consumer confidence and we will work on that for a few more months," Singh told reporters here.
