POSTMORTEM REVIEW:
Performing a post-mortem review is an imperative step of any project, and should be performed as soon as possible, so all the experiences are fresh on everyone's mind. This type of review is performed after a project has been completed and an evaluation is ready to be carried out. This type of analysis shows the pros and cons of the project, what achievements were attained during the project, and the objectives are assessed to see if they were all concluded successfully as planned. The two-day training session was aimed at improving the technology skills of the employees, which was part of a newly integrated, distributed system. This system was spanned across many distribution levels and across many branches of the company.
In the post-mortem review, primarily, the project manager and the team members will be to main people involved with the review. The secondary individuals that may be involved may be the secondary contributors, such as higher level managers, the Financial controller, Chief Executive Officer, as well as, but not limited to, the Human Resource manager. If anyone was involved in the project, and they are related to the scope of the project, and are part of the analysis of the project review, they can be part of the project review process. These individuals will get together to discuss and evaluate any errors or successes that happened during the training process. This will give insight in whether the training was successful, or there needs to be improvement for future endeavors. The review will be done by assessing the performance of the team, as the project progressed.
The documentation of all successes and failures within the project will help future projects. Knowing the strengths and weaknesses within your group, and yourself, will help you know how to grow within a unit. Making sure the scope, budget, and schedule was adhered to will ensure for
