Lighting can be a key factor in a store's success, attracting shoppers and creating an ambience that puts them in a buying mood.

Apparel stores are always very well lit. with apt amount of light on what the costumer wants to see.
Pantaloons had bright white lights with a mix of yellow.
Higher ceiling lights were all white but the ones closer on the racks or placed on the podiums were yellow to make a much higher impact on the way the clothes look to the consumer.
At Zara, typical are the recessed ceiling luminaires, each consisting of a group of two Lightcast downlights with metal halide lamps for efficient general lighting with high visual comfort and one Gimbal directional luminaire with a low-voltage halogen lamp for accent lighting.
ZARA has developed its own reduced "brand-language", whereby mannequins are dramatically grouped together under scenic lighting against neutral backdrops. This creates striking, uniform images, allowing the company to do without expensive printed advertising campaigns.
