The requirements for telecommunication to be arranged for the mid-sized company, I would recommend the set up of telephony server(s) to be located within a physically secure area (to be accessed by authorized personnel on a need to be basis.). The servers would have hardware and/or software for data integrity (such as backup), also the capability to support the clients (users) within the network. Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) is the future of telecommunications in the any type of industry. Team A will install one hundred IP phones over the Local Area Network (LAN) at every work station across the three floors of the company. The IP phones will have built in switch so that additional bridges and router will not be required. The LAN connection will plug into the IP phone and a second LAN cable will connect the IP phone to the personnel’s computer. Not only does this due away with additional routing equipment, but it will allow Team A to synchronize all employees’ outlook contacts into their phone as well. Also, if an employee moves offices they will not be required to change phone numbers. Unlike traditional analog phones were the phone number is connecting to the line itself, an IP phone’s number is hardwired into the phone itself. The IP phones will come with all Voice Service features described by the company’s request: Call Conferencing, Call Hold, Call Transfer, Redial, Mute, Do Not Disturb, Call Forwarding, 800 Number support, Direct Dial, Dial-by-Name Directory, Extension Dialing, Handset (speaker in base), and a Backlit Display. As of now, only the 10 managers will have headsets. However all phones are headset compatibly.

Another more advance IP phone system will be implemented into the conference room. The central unit will have many of the same features as the VoIP phones, but will also have three speakers that extend from the dial pad in a triangle to direction to insure that everyone in the conference room can hear adequately.
