User interface is an important part in any application or program. As it determine how easily to make a program do what the user want. A powerful application with many good features in it, but with poorly designed user interface has little value. Therefore, the designer need to know the appropriate user interface they want to put in their application by when to put it and how to put it to create a good friendly-user application.
A designer should be able to design an application that are easy to use, minimal error, efficiency, and satisfy the user needs in using the application. There are techniques in using the user interface elements as each of the elements have it own unique functionality and need to use it properly. Basically, keep the application simple is more important than adding many unnecessary features just to make the design look nice but in fact it just a distraction to the user. To begin with, in order to know the design of the application, the designer should determine the application they want to create either a web application or media application, or a games, they also must know who will be using it.
There are different types of user interface element that came out with four . First is the input controls where user are able to key in their information, the element are checkboxes, radio buttons, dropdown list, etc. Second is the navigational components that user can use to navigate through the application, the element include are slider, tags, search field, etc. Third is the informational components where it gives user tips or guide on the application, the elements like tool tips, message boxes, progress bar, etc. Lastly is the containers where it place information inside a box or some sort, the elements are accordion.
