Pilgrims were more working class, Puritans valued education more.

The New England Colony mainly hunted the forests and fished the waters for food. They had a few small gardens for produce. They traded lumber which was plentiful, and also dealt furs. Because of their proximity to water they were also able to have major shipping.

Puritans and Catholics (Anglicans) did not agree with each other in England so the Puritans and Pilgrims fled to America in search of religious freedom and settled in New England

Pilgrims wanted to separate from Anglican church.

Puritans wanted to purify the Anglican Church. Religion was controlled by the governor and ministers.

Settlement in Massachusetts Bay. Location is around water which provide food, shipping, and water for the colonies. New England Colony had thin and rocky soil which was not good for farming. They also had long winters and short summers. Their advantage was their proximity to cape cod and the ocean.
