Introduction
Martin Luther King Jr. attended public schools in Atlanta. He joined Morehouse College and graduated in 1948. King studied theology and later joined the ministry of National Baptist Church. He started serving as a pastor at Dexter Avenue Baptist Church. During his life, he advocated for social change through non-violent means such as, boycotts, protests, campaigns, and rallies (Kirk 22). King championed several non-violent actions. This led to his arrest in several instances. Even in jail, King did not stop to fight against social injustices. This was evident when he wrote a letter from Birmingham prison. King Luther's assassination occurred in 1965. He died in 1968. This treatise looks at the ideas and actions of movement organized by Martin Luther King, Jr. Thesis Statement
