- What was the major purpose or problem described in this article?
They are looking for the frequency between drinking and driving and being drunk. Plus the use of other drugs while drinking.
- What, if any, were the hypotheses or research questions?
What sample was used in this research? To begin with there was 12,118 students that were eligible for the survey. But, 529 of the students had missing information or were under 14 years of age.
- What types of methods of data collection were used?
The method was a 75 question survey with the title Youth Risk Behavior survey. They chose a few students from random 9th thru 12th grade classes from all 50 states.
- What were the results and conclusions of this research?
The result if this article is the more a teenager drinks the more they are prone to drink and drive and a decrease in grade average in school.
- What is your opinion or reaction to this research?
I like this article because all the information is backed up with facts and numbers. Another reason is it shows how bad drinking and driving has really gotten.
