Personal Essay

My home

      I am Kate. I live in a house with my family. There are seven rooms in our house: a hall, a kitchen, a living room, a bathroom, a toilet and two bedrooms. But there is no pantry in our house.

     I have a room of my own. (I haven”t got a room of my own. I share it with my sister/brother.) My room is nice and large. (My room is small but nice.) There is a big window in the room. There is a desk next to the window. There is a lamp above the desk. I have my own computer on the desk. Of course, there is a bed in my room. I go to bed at 10 o”clock every night. There is a warm carpet on the floor. There are a lot of books on the shelf. I like to sit on the carpet and read interesting books. You can see many posters (pictures ) on the wall. I collect them. There is a TV in the left corner. I like to watch TV in the evenings.

My school

      My name is … I am a student. I am in the 7th form. I go to school number 2. Our school is large and light. It is situated in the centre of the village. There is a big schoolyard with many trees, flowers and a nice fountain in front of the school.    

     800 (eight hundred) students go to our school. All pupils of our school have to wear a school uniform.

    We learn a lot of subject at school. They are Russian, Literature, Maths, History, Biology, Geography, English, Art, Music, Physical Education, Information Technology and others.

     My favourite subject is English. We have English three times a week. At the lessons we usually read interesting stories or fairy tales, do grammar exercises, learn new words by heart, translate texts from Russian into English. I like to learn new things about British people, their life, culture and traditions. English language helps me in my everyday life. I can read English texts or watch films. There are so many English words in Russian language. My dream is to visit Great Britain one day.

    My favourite subject is PE. We have PE 3 times a week. We usually play volleyball, football, basketball or table tennis at the lessons. We run and jump. Our teacher’s name is  …  . He is strict but justful.     ... helps us to get high results. He\She is a good teacher and a good sportsman. Many pupils of our class take part in different sports competitions.         Sport helps me to keep good health. I like PE very much.  

       I like to go to school, learn new things and spend a good time with my classmates.

My friend

       I have got a friend. Her name is Lena. She is 11. She is a nice girl. Lena is tall and thin. Her face is round and her eyes are blue. Her hair is long and fair.

       Lena is in the 5th form. She studies well. Her favourite subjects are  Endlish, Literature and Biology. She spends a lot of time learning them. Lena is not only a good pupil but also a true friend. She often helps me to do my homework. We like to spend our free time together. We usually go for walks, watch interesting films, read books or magazines and talk a lot. Sometimes we play computer games. We also like to listen to music and play puzzles. I like my friend very much. I think Lena is a faithful friend.
