Carefully prepare for each class and contribute actively to class discussion. Class preparation consist of reading the slides, the article(s) available on the Knowledge platform, and the case study you will be working on in class. Complementary articles, Grant’s textbook’s chapters may be useful if some questions in relation to the topic or to the case studies remain unanswered after reading the materials. More time will be required to do the Final Project. One way to prepare your class is to start reading the case study, then read the slide show and the article. Then, you can have a deeper look at the case study to see whether you feel confident in designing a relevant study.

Class Participation

Attending class is mandatory. Your full participation will contribute to build a learning environment. You may miss two class sessions without penalty, but all absences maybe detrimental for your learning. Please notify the instructor of your absence via email prior to the start of class. At the beginning of each class, there will be a Q&A session in relation to the materials you had to read. Further, each class will end by a debate or a presentation generating Q&A sessions. Your contribution is critical to make these discussions lively and useful.

Workload

The benefits of this course will depend on how much commitment you put into the endeavor. Students should expect to spend 5-8 hours outside of class each week to read the assigned materials, reflect, complete assignments, and prepare for the following class session.
