The one place I feel most at home would be a basketball court. Basketball is my life and the focus of my dreams. Ever since my uncle introduced me to the sport, I have been passionate about it. I received my first Fisher Price basketball court when I was three. The court was in my house and the basket was only five feet tall. My parents placed it in the living room since it was the only room in the house without carpet. I practiced shooting every day. By the age of five, my uncle was taking me out to the park with a basketball and I can actually remember the day I made my first basket. When I was nine years old, which was when I realized how much I loved the game of basketball. I went on to play in basketball leagues, as well as work out with my uncle in gyms every night. Some of the reasons I love basketball is because it is challenging, helps me improve myself as a person, and teaches me a lot about life. Coming from a household full of physical arguments and fights, always made me leave the house with a basketball right by my side. I would always find a court to myself, to clear my mind and stay away from the trouble. I started to make the court my second home by make friends and even started to study my homework there. I will continue living this dream to follow my uncle’s footsteps by making it into the NBA. More importantly, the court makes me understand that having passion and satisfaction is essential in achieving true happiness. That is why I call the basketball court my second home.
