The virtual project problems that is unique to the phenomenon of being dispersed is the formation of “cliques” or informal subgroups where cliques tend to create resentment, dislike and competition between the team itself, their project manager, the team members, and among the cliques themselves.

On the other hand, the common problems encountered are the difficulty of developing trust, difficulty of sharing adequate levels of information across distance, uncertain roles and responsibilities of the team members, and difficulty of understanding information. It is difficult to develop trust among the members because of the inconsistent and irregular communication among them.
