Preventing individuals from malnutrition

Malnutrition, which can be happened in any ages, has become a common problem in all around the world: it can affect height or weight of individuals and be linked to illness such as immunity decreased, cancers and some infectious diseases. Nutrition, which can be acquired from food drink or air, is a nourishing substance. Malnutrition means someone is lacking in nutrition. A host of factors can cause malnutrition-for example, characters have unhealthy eating habits (Saunders & Smith 2001, pp. 624-7); or because of other illness. However, malnutrition can be prevented by following positive steps. These include correcting unhealthy living habits; to enhance care for the elderly (Mion, McDowell & Heaney 1999, pp. 46-51); and to create foundation for children.

First of all, correcting unhealthy living habits means help patients to live in healthy life. Staying away from alcohol is the first choice. The body's ability to digest food, absorb certain vitamins, and produce hormones, which regulate metabolism can be seriously weakened by alcohol. Alcohol contain calories (Akner & Cederholm 2011, pp. 6-24), reducing the patient's feeling of hunger, so they consequently may not eat enough proper food to supply the body with essential nutrients. After stop drinking, without alcohol, patients can eat more food than before. More food patients ate, more nutrients bodies can acquire. The second way is to prepare healthy diet. Many patients suffer from malnutrition by ignoring what they ate. For many factors, patients always ate fast food before illness. Fast food is a kind of food, which includes high energy but less nutrition. High energy can reduce feeling of hunger; as a result, patient did not acquire enough nutrient substance, but they cannot eat more food. High nutrition food is necessities to address malnutrition. When patients still have the feeling of hunger, they have already got enough nutrients. This kind of behavior can supply nutrients efficiently. Many citizens also do not know nutritional knowledge such as nutritional balance, which means arrangement of food. For example, wine can reduce greasy feeling and a beef rib steak is a kind of meet which include high amount of essential nutrient in body but it also have high energy and calories. Too many calories make the meet become much greasier (Dinsdale 2006, pp. 22-4). When individuals choose beef ribs as their dinner, moderate wine can not only bring them superior taste, but also help body adsorb nutrition (Smith 2004, pp. 94-116). It is necessary for the family member who cooks for family to acquire cooking knowledge, which can benefit every member at home. Incorrect food matching can even get life-threatening.
