The Trip Setting

The sea might not be the number one choice to get from Morocco to Spain. In the trip the characters go to Spain "Illegally" by sea which is actually tougher than it seems and the thing that makes it tougher is that they go on a inflatable boat. The setting of the story affects the characters, creates a negative atmosphere, and

The setting has an effect on the characters because they know if something goes wrong everything will go wrong. Since there is no escape in the sea all the characters seem to be anxious. As the characters are on their journey the motor stops working and everybody looks at Rahal and he tries to pull the cable a couple of times but nothing happens. “What’s wrong?” Faten asks, her voice laden with anxiety. Rahal doesn’t answer. That creates even more nervousness so Fatn recites a sura fro the Quran”. As you can see this quote shows how the setting made a conflict a greater conflict than it is. The trip also makes the passengers feel sick so they all start vomiting around. The setting is very dangerous and they all know that that is why they are all searching for a solution and on the other hand Faten starts crying. Also Rahal and scar face are getting very nervous that they starts yelling at the rest of the passengers. So this shows how the setting can affect the characters of the story.

    The setting has not only affected the characters but it also has created a negative atmosphere for all the characters. The atmosphere is negative the whole time because all the characters on the boat just want to reach to Spain with no problems whatsoever and they know that they can go to jail for what they are doing. Also some of the characters know that the sea is tough and it is not an easy place to be in and an example is Murad
