Before taking this course Managing Business Ethics, my views and knowledge of what ethics was limited. I knew the general concept associated with ethics, wrong or right things to do. To expand my knowledge of the word ethics at the beginning of the course, I choose to seek out several steps concerning the true meaning of ethics. And I was amazed to find out that there are many components of ethics. Ethics by definition according to the Merriam-webster dictionary is defined as "the discipline dealing with what is good and bad and with moral duty and obligation. (www.merriam-webster.com, 2017).

The key word in the definition brought me to my second steps. Who was obligated in ethical situations and what was the obligations? The word obligation was used as the guide throughout the course to identify the ethical situation in various case studies and our individual organizations. Cooperate social responsibility was another form of moral obligation that usually places organizations under the microscope of the stakeholders in the environment to deal with ethical situations. Each week as we studied and researched different situations, we were able to identify who was obligated to resolving issues in different scenarios. As the learning continues each week important steps to identifying ethical issues was acquired. I learned that when values and norms are in conflict and not aligning ethical situation can emerge. As we learned that when this occur, the organization must have the ability to identify the ethical problem and consider all the stakeholders.

The authors Trevino, L.K. & Nelson, in Managing Business Ethics, constantly explained to us in the book that “stakeholder includes many constituencies such as shareholders, employees, suppliers, the government, the media, activists, and many more; mostly, they have the power to interfere with a firm's activities "( Trevino, L.K. & Nelson, K. A.,2014). As we studied throughout the course, we were able to identify that each situation required a different

method for the solution to an ethical dilemma. The most important learned from taking this course is the eight Ethical decision-making process summarizes the outcome from studying BSAD 460.
