Abstract.

This paper highlights the best diversification practices. It starts by giving a definition of the word diversification then some benefits of diversification. The paper continues to highlight the best diversification practices like Communication of the vision and taking ownership, Increasing knowledgeable and devoted leaders, Awareness and skill-based teaching, Aligning diversity to strategic planning, Accountability, Mentoring, Assessment and evaluation, Employee involvement, Recruitment and Personal reflection.

Introduction.

Diversity can mean incorporating all the uniqueness and experiences that define everyone as an individual. These may range from ones race, ethnic group, ones gender, age, faith, or disability. It also include ones communication skills, the kind of work one undertakes, the role and part one plays in any given organization, the status of one’s country economy and the geographical location of one’s territory(Harvey & Carol 2012).

In all these aspects, every individual has distinct qualities. If one can identify and highly regard diversity it is easier to realize individual prosperity, an organization can become efficient and effective and encourages productive competition within similar firms. To realize the full benefits of labor force a firm must emphasize on having more than a diversified working station. To achieve workforce diversity a firm can practice some of the best practices. However, implementing diversity to the latter the real initiative must start with edifying commitment from the highest leaders (Harvey & Carol 2012).

Benefits of diversity.

Diversity has direct positive impacts on both the firm and the respective members of a firm. There is good decision making which leads to better methods of solving problems in an organization. It also leads to creativity and innovation because of integration of several cultures hence developments and advancements of products. There is the pooling of different talents from different people. If one is able to manifest one’s ability and people appreciate, one develops a deeper sense of belonging.
