How can leaders in organization use multiculturalism to build a company culture, which promotes inclusiveness? How do the characteristics of a multicultural organization relate to Cox's diversity management paradigm? Explain
In order to manage diversity in workplace and effectively, a company must value diversity, and the company must change the business to accommodate diversity and make it an integral part of the business to be successful. Multicultural diversity can enrich the workplace, leading to greater creativity and broader perspective when generating solutions and interacting with their clients. In all successful businesses or corporations communication can be challenging in a multicultural workplace, since not everyone relies on the same cultural cues for sending and receiving messages. But companies must incorporate steps to build an effective multicultural workplace community. Yet, companies must accept and promote people of different racial and ethnic backgrounds. According to Greenberg, "Diversity broadens this view to include promotion of people from different backgrounds and of different abilities, religions, sexuality and even ways of thinking" (Greenberg, par. 8). Because as a multicultural and diverse workplace you will helps produce better products, expand business lines globally and foster new ideas and creativity and the ability to problem-solve among work groups. Having a work force that reflects a company's values and customer base is smart business and the world.
