Wireless Technology Paper
Today’s workplace is becoming more and faster paced each day. If an organization hopes to remain competitive in today’s market they must invest in technologies that will allow them to remain relevant. One way to do this is to implement wireless technology in the workplace. Wireless technology allows employees to collaborate with their colleagues even from a remote location. Wireless technology ensures that workers are not working in isolation, rather, they can instantly communicate with members of their team and effectively staying on top on issues or trends that need attention (Rossi, 2015).
Wireless Technology, Remote Access and My Experience
Organizations today must use some form of technology to remain efficient in today’s world of business. Businesses rely on the advantages of technology to connect with business partners, employees, and customers in an easy and accessible way. With businesses stretching further than ever before, including intercontinentally, allowing people to have remote access, mobile access, and the ability to share the same network without different hook ups serves well to ensure everyone is on the same page. The convenience this brings to an organization, household, or any other entity is invaluable. Organizations are able to work from laptops or surfaces and they are able to bring their devices with them to meetings while accessing all the necessary drives (Mayo & Worach, 2010).
Wireless technology has improved the quality of my work environment significantly. I am able to plug my surface in a port that displays on my main monitors then simply detach when I am ready to go meet with a client. Clients are able to sign their signature on my surface and I am able to properly store the documents where they need to go. This process cuts down on filing, processing time, and paper. It is almost as if I am able to take my desk with me wherever I go.
At home my motivation for using wireless technology is convenience. I and able to work while comfortably sitting in my favorite chair. Wireless technology also work well for my toddler. When mom or I need to get some cleaning or other things are the house done, we simply sit our daughter down with her tablet to distract her and go about her way. This all points back to the biggest motivating factor for me, convenience.
