In today’s time, having a business and managing an organization are interesting. But how can you build a good business? What are the tools and techniques that the organization must have? How important for the organization to follow a system?
Due to the fast changing of the work environment in terms of technology and systems, the need for upgrading the business systems was also increasing and due to that demand Business Intelligence System is recommended. “Business Intelligence is the set of techniques and tools that converts data into useful information and, through human analysis into knowledge” (Negash, 2004). “In general, Business Intelligence (BI) has three main objectives which are very useful for every organization. First, BI provides fast and accurate information so it can help to make the better decisions. The Second, it’s make corporate data into information to have reliable and trustable data. And third, it’s make the decision-making process more transparent and efficient” (Kurniawan, Yohannes; Gunawan, Ali; Kurnia Stephen Gregorius, 2014).To meet this objectives there are many applications that BI uses like collecting and gathering data into data warehouse then the data will process, it is called data mining. This data mining covers everything about customers, suppliers and some other transactions that can be used by the organization in making a decision. BI is basically helping the business to understand more about what is happening and how they can improve their service. Having a Business Intelligence in an organization is having a strong foundation to survive in a competitive market. Like for example in Health care Industry, because of the improvement in technology and data revolution. The health care providers and health care planners are looking for new methods or systems to maintain and achieve competitive advantage. “Healthcare business intelligence can provide organizations the ability to use their data to improve quality of care, increase financial efficiency and operational effectiveness, conduct innovative research and satisfy regulatory requirements” (About Us: Perficient, 2015). Study shows that more than 50% of healthcare organizations are planning to replace or buy new systems to help them to improve their systems in order to meet the needs of their patients as their main customers and to deliver a good care. By using BI tools, Healthcare providers are hoping for a broad understanding and solutions for every problem, including analysis of financial and departmental data. As well as getting to know about physician’s quality and performance and for some member of healthcare team, and to know the patient’s feedback with their cares. The data from the past up to the present is very important for the continuity of the service so it should be clear and manageable to have a clean data for the organization.
