1. Suggest how your organization’s business strategies, processes, and culture are aligned with its AIS. The employer I wish to use for the example is retail store, Body Central, which I work part-time in addition to my full time job. Body Central business strategy is to sell trendy clothing at reasonable prices to women. Every store receives the same clothing that represents the trends that are currently on the runway at the beginning of the season. However, the company uses sales records similar to Wal-Mart to see what trends and clothing is selling best. The company then uses this information to know what clothing they will continue to send to the store, what type of clothes that store customers are interested in, and if a particular type of clothing is not doing well they may ask the store to ship it to another store that the trend is selling well in. In addition the company uses that information to track the amount of customers shopping as a way to help determine the amount hours the store can give to its employees. Recommend two types of enhancements to the system that could improve organizational performance. Provide specific examples to support your response. The two improvement will deal with the supporting activity of technology and the primary activity of marketing .First improvement is a better cash register system, it’s like a bottle neck currently that need to fix as soon as possible because it is old and the cashiers have to manual ring up each item by typing in everything which lead to avoidable mistakes, like wrong price being charge or the wrong item being recorded as sold, if the register was upgraded this will prevent the problem. The second improvement is to ask customer to give their zip codes and create a phone application because it will allow the company to know where they should locate a new store and promote/market the business with today’s leading technology reaching people faster.
