Change can be a good or bad thing depending on how you look at it. Change is necessary in

order for progression to occur. A good percentage of people that are at an advanced age see change as

something hard to grasp . Generally, these people are accustom to a run of the mill job and lifestyles

and typically are used to a normalcy. Change for them can be difficult especially when it comes to

technological advances. In this day and age, it is imperative that we conform to change when it comes to

technological advancements. Change can also be negative. From a business perspective change can be

detrimental to a company if the changes aren’t the right ones. Many companies deal with change on a

regular basis. Changes with upper management happen all the time and the changes that these

individuals implement can make or break and organization. An organization can appoint a new CEO to

run the company and right away he or she may implement new rules and different structure and

hierarchy. Right away these changes can rattle the employees. Making Important decisions to change a

product for the company or change direction can have the same effect or even worse. These types of

changes can cripple an organization and send them right into bankruptcy .

I see change as a positive factor. I am open minded and always looking forward to seeing both

sides of the fence when it comes to change. Change can be convenient and beneficial. Making changes

can mean breathing new air into something that is old. My tolerance for change is normal but it depends

on a few factors. Many people can adapt to change but on what circumstances. My normal tolerance for

change can be an easy transition if the change is necessary, and if it benefits me, but if the change is

sudden I can also adapt to that. Many changes are not necessary. The saying comes to mind “ if it’s not

broke, don’t fix it”. That saying holds weight in this aspect. When it comes to myself
